Gabriela Rosa (b. October 12, 1966) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 72. She was first elected to the chamber in 2012.

Biography

Rosa earned a BA in Marketing from the Universidad Pedro Henriquez Urena in 1986, and a BS in Economics from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Her professional experience includes serving as Senior Policy Advisor and Special Assistant in the Office of Assemblyman Farrell, working as the Chief of Staff of a City Councilmember from the 10th City Council District, as a Legislative Assistant to State Assemblyman Herman D. Farrell Jr., and as a English Teacher at the Dominican American Institute.[1]

Rosa ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 72. She defeated Melanie Hidalgo, Mayra S. Linares, and Ruben D. Vargas in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Rosa defeated Ronnie Cabrera (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
