Gail Finney is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 84th district. She has served since 2009.

Finney has served on the Wichita Chamberof Commerce's Visioneering Racial, Diversity, Opportunities, and Harmony Board; the District 1 Advisory Board, Precinct Committee Woman, and the Governor's Kansas African American Advisory Commission.

She has a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Wichita State University and an MBA from Friends University.[1]

  • Ensuring a quality education for all Kansas children,
  • Bringing the cost of health care and prescription drugs down,
  • Working with all levels of government and the private sector to grow our economy and expand our job base.

She refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[3]

Finney is running in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 98. She defeated Matthew Collins in the August 7 Democratic primary. Dan Heflin was unopposed in the Republican primary. Gordon Bakken is the Libertarian candidate. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]

Finney won re-election to the 84th District seat against Dan Heflin (R). In the August 3rd primary election, Finney defeated Democratic primary opponent Inga Taylor by a margin of 667 to 92. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[7]
