Republican Gail Haines of Waterford is the current state representative for the 43rd District of the Michigan House of Representatives serving her first term.

Rep. Haines received her bachelor of science in education from State University of New York, and her master's degree in education from Nazareth College. Haines is a 12-year public school teacher, serving also as a middle- and high school coach. She has been married to her husband for 26 years and they have one son.

Previous Offices Held

former Lake Angelus City Council member, Haines has also served the 43rd District as community liaison for former state Rep. Fran Amos.
