Gary Boisclair was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota.

Boisclair was born in Minneapolis and was raised in Buffalo, Minnesota. Upon graduating from Buffalo High School in 1986, he earned his bachelor's degree in french and philosophy and his master's degree in education from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Paul, Minnesota. From 1984 to 1991, he ran a family-owned business called Casual Living, Inc. in Edina, Minnesota. In the early 1990s, he worked in youth ministry, as a manager of a County Kitchen, and in the construction industry. In 1998, he became a grade school teacher. From 2003 through 2009, he taught several disciplines to middle school students in Honolulu, Hawaii. Currently, he works for the Society for Truth & Justice. [1]

Boisclair ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Minnesota's 5th District. He was defeated by incumbent Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison in the Democratic primary.
