Dillon is past President of the Whitley County Health Department. He was President of School Board Whitley County Consolidated from 1991 to 1998. He served in the Indiana State House from 1998 to 2002. He then joined the Indiana State Senate in 2002 and served in that position until 2010. He was Assistant Majority Caucus Chair.
Dillon earned his BA from Wabash College in 1968. He went on to receive his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1972.
Dillon is a past Hospice Medical Director for Whitley County. He has also worked on "Ask the Physician" Radio Show. He served in the Indiana Air National Guard from 1964 to 1970. From 1976 to 1989 he worked as a private practice Physician. Dillon has been a Volunteer Physician/Dermatology Consultant for Mathew 25 Free Clinic since 1978. He has also been a teacher of Medical Students/Medical Residents since 1978. He has worked as a Physician for Fort Wayne Dermatology from 1989 to the present. He is currently a Physician and Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Indiana University Medical Center.
