Gary Finch is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 126 since 2013 and currently serving as Assistant Minority Leader. He previously represented District 123 from 1999 to 2013, and is a former Minority Whip. His political experience also includes being the deputy minority whip for the New York State Assembly; as well as mayor and trustee for the Village of Aurora.

Finch is the owner and chief operating officer of Brew-Finch Funeral Homes.

Finch attended Cayuga Community College; earned a degree from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, New York; and a BS in public administration and political theory from the State University of New York Empire State College. He and his wife, Marcia, have two children; Amy and Gregory.[1]

Finch ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 126. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

Finch ran unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary. He was unopposed in the general election on November 2.[5] In addition to his slot on the Republican Party ticket, he was also listed as a candidate of the Independence Party of New York State and the Conservative Party.
