Gary V. Staples (b. January 16, 1940) is a Republican member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 88. He was first elected to the chamber in 2003.

Staples served in the House previously, representing District 88 from 1988 to 1992.


Staples attended the University of Southern Mississippi and Jones Junior College. Now retired, his professional experience includes working for BellSouth.[1]

On November 8, 2011, Staples won re-election to District 88 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He defeated Mitchell Pitts in the August 2 primary and defeated Jonathan Hodge (D) and Donald Holifield (I) in the November 8 general election. [2]
