Federal aid in Mississippi

In a speech at the Biloxi Visitors Center, Taylor began actively campaigning against Steven Palazzo, his opponent in the primary, attacking him for voting against federal aid after Hurricane Sandy. In his speech, Taylor argued that Mississippi greatly needed federal aid after Hurricane Katrina, highlighting the importance of federal aid for storm relief. Taylor also criticized Palazzo for wanting to cut the military budget, claiming that this would hurt military bases and thereby national defense as a whole.[5]
