Therriault earned his A.A. in Computer Information Services and his B.A. in Business Administration, both from University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
Therriault had been a member of the Alaskan State Senate since 2001. In that time h eserved as the Senate President from 2003-2004 and the Senate minority leader since 2008. During that time, he has also served on a number of committees and has been the chair of five separate committees and the vice chair of three. Prior to being elected to the senate, Therriault served in the Alaskan House of Representatives from 1993-2000.
In 2006 Therriault was re-elected to the Alaska State Senate, District F. Therriault finished with 7,881 votes and her opponent Tim Beck finished with 2,953 votes. Therriault raised $100,171 for her campaign fund.
