George Barker has been a Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate since 2008, representing the 39th district.

Barker received a A.B at Harvard College and M.S. at Harvard University. Barker is a member of the Fairfax Presbyterian church.

Barker is running for re-election in the 2011 election for Virginia Senate District 39. He will face Miller Baker in the November 8 general election.


On Nov. 6, 2007, Barker won election to the 39th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Jay O'Brien (R).[1]
