George Barker has been a Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate since 2008, representing the 39th district.

Barker received a A.B at Harvard College and M.S. at Harvard University. Barker is a member of the Fairfax Presbyterian church.

On November 8, 2011, Barker won re-election to District 39 of the Virginia State Senate. He defeated Miller Baker (R) in the November 8 general election.[1]
