The 2nd congressional district of Georgia will hold an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 4, 2014.

Georgia has an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary. When runoff elections are used, voters must vote in same party's runoff election as they voted for in the first round election.

Heading into the election the incumbent is Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D), who was first elected in 1992.

Georgia's 2nd Congressional District is one of the largest districts by size, and it takes in most of the southwestern fourth of the state of Georgia.[1]

Note: Prior to the signature filing deadline, candidates will be added when Ballotpedia writers come across declared candidates. If you see a name of a candidate who is missing, please email us and we will add that name. As the election draws closer, more information will be added to this page.
