Eligibility to Vote
Georgia is one of 19 states to use an open primary system. When runoff elections are used, voters must vote in same party's runoff election as they voted for in the first round election. Voters must register to vote by July 2, 2012.(Information about registering to vote)
Georgia received an additional seat from redistricting. Currently, Republicans hold an 8-5 edge in the 13 Congressional districts.
