Gerald Greene (b. January 20, 1948) is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 151. Greene has represented the district, previously the 149th District, since 1983.

Greene was a STAR Teacher in 1986, and has also worked as a farmer, owner of a greenhouse-nursery, Instructor in Political Science/Western Civilization at Andrew College, and a teacher in Social Studies in the Randolph-Clay School System.

He is a member of the Georgia Association of Educators, Historical Society, and the Springvale Baptist Church.[1]

Switches party affiliation

Following his unopposed victory in the November 2, 2010 general election, Greene switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He stated, “I love the Democratic party, and I have no ill will for anyone in the party. This isn’t about anything that anyone did. I just wanted to be where I could help the people of this district most."[2]

Greene ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 151. Greene ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. Richie Smith ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [3] Greene defeated Richie Smith in the general election.[4]

Greene ran for re-election to the 149th District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the July 20 primary and no one ran against him in the general election on November 2, 2010.[5]
