A Gilford Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Gilford, which is in Tuscola County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further eight years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township. It was approved.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previously voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution, on general ad valorem taxes within Gilford Township be renewed at 1.0 mills ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for the period of 8 years, December 1, 2012 through December 1, 2019 inclusive, for fire protection services in Gilford Township, and shall Gilford Township levy a renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising an estimated $39,275.00 in the first year the millage is levied?[1][2]
