A Gilmore Township Library Levy Addition measure was on the May 8, 2012 ballot in the Gilmore township which is in Benzie County.

This measure sought to implement a levy in the township at a rate of $.75 per $1,000 of assessed value in order to help pay for Benzie Shores district library services in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Benzie Shores District Library, County of Benzie, Michigan, levy an amount not to exceed .75 mill ($.75 on each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable real and tangible personal property within Gilmore Township, Benzie County, in perpetuity beginning in the year 2012, for the purpose of providing funds for all District Library purposes authorized by law; and shall the District Library levy such new additional millage for said purpose? The estimate of the revenue the District Library will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the Library in the 2012 calendar year is approximately $28,000. A portion of the revenue may be required to be distributed to the Village of Elberta Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.[2]
