A Green Oak Township Fire Levy Increase measure was on the August 2, 2011 ballot in the township of Green Oak which is in Livingston County.

This measure sought to increase the current fire protection levy by a rate of $2 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to help pay for general operation costs and well as buying new equipment and vehicles for the fire department.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Green Oak Charter Township, Livingston County, imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution be increased in an amount not to exceed 2.0 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of five (5) years (December 2011 through December 2015 inclusive) for the purpose of providing funds for the general operations of and purchase of equipment and vehicles for the Green Oak Charter Township Fire Department; and shall the Township levy such new additional millage for said purpose, thereby, raising in the first year an estimated $1,659,164.00?[3]
