Horton was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 6 of the New Jersey General Assembly.

2012
Horton is running for the U.S. House representing New Jersey's 1st congressional district. He will face the winner of the Democratic primary, which will be incumbent Rob Andrews or candidate Francis Tenaglio.[1]
2011
Horton replaced Sharon Moran on the Republican ticket after Moran withdrew following the June 7 primary.[2] He was defeated in the November 8 general election.[3]
