Guy Vander Linden is a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 79 since 2013. He previously represented District 75 from 2011 to 2013.

Vander Linden is a retired U.S. Marine who retired at the rank of Brigadier General. During his tenure, he served as a helicopter pilot for President Ronald Reagan, commanded a helicopter squadron in the first Gulf War and oversaw a naval aviation depot at Cherry Point, NC. After retiring from the Marines, he worked as vice president of Agusta Westland, Inc., an Anglo-Italian helicopter company, and for the defense division of auto maker Rolls-Royce. Vander Linden holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and a master's from the University of Southern California. He also graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the National War College.

Vander Linden ran in the 2012 election for Iowa House of Representatives District 79. Vander Linden ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012 and defeated Chris Wilson (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
