A Heartland Institute School District Levy measure was on the May 4, 2010 ballot in the Heartland Institute of Technology school district area which is in Ionia County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 2,781 Approveda
  • NO 1,111 [1]

This measure sought to implement a $.10 levy per $100 of assessed value on homes in the district in order to keep the trade school in operation. Other school district have pulled out funding for this school because they could not afford the costs so this levy would allow the school to stay open. An average homeowner in the district would pay around $75 a year in taxes towards the school.[2]
