Hilary Paulson is an attorney that serves as a civil litigator and has lived in Redwood City since 1996. She is married to her husband and they have three children that have attended Redwood City Elementary Schools. Hilary earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of California: Berkeley and her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law.
Hilary Paulson was one of two candidates who filed for an at large seat on the Redwood City Elementary School District. Paulson and fellow incumbent Maria Diaz-Slocum won in a no contest election that did not appear on the ballot.
Paulson did not report any contributions or expenditures to the San Mateo County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder.

What was at stake?
Two at large seats were up for election on November 5, 2013. Two incumbents, Maria Diaz-Slocum and Hilary Paulson filed seeking election. With only two candidates filing for two seats, the election was cancelled and this contest did not appear on the November 5, 2013 ballot.
About the district
Redwood City outperforms the rest of California when measured on the basis of median household income, percentage of residents living below the poverty level, percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a Bachelor's degree and percentage of residents over the age of 25 with a high school diploma. The median household income in Redwood City was $77,111 compared to $61,632 for the state of California. 40.1% of Redwood City residents aged 25 years and older attained a bachelor's degree compared to a 20.1 in California. The US Census also showed the poverty rate in Redwood City was 9.4% compared to 14.4% for the entire state. The US Census also found that 85.4% of Redwood City residents aged 25 years and older attained a high school degree compared to a 80.8% in California.
