A Home Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Home, which is in Newaygo County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further eight years in order to continue to pay for fire department operational costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the 15 mill tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes in Home Township imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution for said township be renewed for one and one-half (1-1/2) mills ($1.50 per $1,000.00 of the taxable value) for each of eight years from 2012 through 2019 inclusive for the purpose of providing funds for operation of fire protection services, which will raise in the first year of such levy an estimated $18,600.00?[3]
