Howard Maxwell is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 17th District since 2003. He served as Chair/Vice-Chair of the Paulding County School Board from 1989-2002. Maxwell ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.

Maxwell has worked as an insurance agent and served in the United States Army from 1969-1970.

He is a member of the American Legislators Exchange Council, Dallas Rotary Club, Georgia Association of Insurance Agents and Finance Advisors, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, and Wellstar Paulding Hospital Board, present.[1]

Maxwell ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 17. Maxwell ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [2] Maxwell won re-election in the general election.[3]

Maxwell ran for re-election to the 16th District seat in 2010. He did not face any opposition in the July 20 primary and no one filed to run against him in the general election. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]
