A Hudson Township Fire Levy Renewal measure will be on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Hudson, which is in Charlevoix County.

This measure seeks to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further two years in order to continue to pay for fire vehicle maintenance and repair costs in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previously voted increase in the 15 mill tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Hudson Township be renewed up to 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for two (2) years, 2012 through 2013 inclusive, for the purpose of acquirement, replacement and payment of vehicles and equipment for fire and emergency protection; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $38,331?[2]
