In the Idaho gubernatorial election of 2010, held on November 2, 2010, incumbent Republican Butch Otter defeated Democrat Keith Allred to win re-election.

Following the May 25, 2010 primary elections, Allred and Otter both easily won their party nominations.

November 2, 2010 general election results

By law, the Secretary of State had to certify results by the 18th of November (see Sec. 34-1215, Idaho Code).

Results were certified on November 15.[1]

  • Jana M. Kemp, a businesswoman and author who previously served in Idaho's House of Representatives
  • Marvin Richardson, a long term abortion issues activist who has legally changed his middle name to 'Pro-Life'; in addition to campaign and activism work, he owns a organic strawberry farm. His perpetual candidacy and unorthodox approach earned him national media attention.[14]

Both of Idaho's United States Senate seats in 2010 were held by Republicans. Idaho's delegation to the U.S. House was comprised of 1 Democrat and 1 Republican. The incumbent governor, C. L. "Butch" Otter, is a Republican.
