The Illinois Chairman of Commerce Commission is a state executive position in the Illinois state government. Each commissioner is appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Illinois State Senate for a five-year term. Under Illinois law, no more than three commissioners may belong to the same political party.[1]

Current officeholder

The current chairman of the commission is Doug Scott. He was appointed March 3, 2011. Scott serves alongside Lula Ford (appointed January 21, 2003), Erin O'Connell-Diaz (appointed 2003), Ann McCabe (appointed March 16, 2012), and John Colgan (appointed November 15, 2009).[2]

Duties

The mission of the ICC is to pursue an appropriate balance between the interest of consumers and existing and emerging service providers to ensure the provision of adequate, efficient, reliable, safe and least-cost public utility services.[1]
