Current officeholder

The current officeholder is Marc Miller. He was appointed by Gov. Pat Quinn (D) on February 5, 2009.[1]

Duties

The director's office administers several key interdisciplinary functions within the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.[2]

The mission of the department is to manage, protect and sustain Illinois' natural and cultural resources, provide resource-compatible recreational opportunities, and promote natural resource-related public safety, education, and science.[2]
