The Illinois Director of Natural Resources
is a state executive position in the Illinois state government.
The current officeholder is Marc Miller. He was appointed by Gov. Pat Quinn (D) on February 5, 2009.
The director's office administers several key interdisciplinary functions within the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The mission of the department is to manage, protect and sustain Illinois' natural and cultural resources, provide resource-compatible recreational opportunities, and promote natural resource-related public safety, education, and science.
