Inez Barron is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. She has represented District 40 since 2009. Barron was also on the New York City Board of Education.

Barron's professional experiences include vice president of Dynamics of Leadership, Incorporated; assistant principal; executive assistant to the community superintendent; district coordinator for early childhood; teacher trainer; classroom teacher, reading teacher, math lab teacher; and radioisotope laboratory.

Barron earned a BS in physiology from Hunter College of the City University of New York and MS in reading and special education from Bank Street College of Education. She and her husband, Charles, have two children; Jelani Johnson and Jawanza.[1]

Barron ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 60. She defeated Christopher Banks in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. She also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. She defeated Kenneth Waluyn in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
