Ira Silverstein is a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate. He has been a Senator since 1999. Silverstein was re-elected in November of 2006 with his term expiring in 2010.

Silverstien graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in 1982 from Loyola-Chicago and graduated with his law degree from John Marshall-Chicago in 1985.

In addition to being a full-time Senator, Silverstien is a practicing Attorney.
