A Iron County Health District Levy Increase measure was on the February 28, 2012 ballot in Dickinson and Iron Counties.

This measure was approved

  • NO 1,836 (43.85%)[1]

This measure sought to increase the district property tax by a rate of $.42 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for general health district needs.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the tax rate limitation for the County of Iron General Ad Valorem taxes be increased by .42 mills ($.42 per thousand dollars of taxable value) for a period of four (4) years, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, inclusive, the taxes so raised to be used exclusively as follows: .42 mill for operations of the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department. This levy would raise an estimated $ 198,048 in the first year." (This is a renewal of the .35 mill levy which will expire with the 2012 levy; plus an additional .07 mill.)[3]
