Jabar Shumate (b. January 26, 1976) is a Democratic member of the Oklahoma State Senate, representing District 11. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.

He was previously a member of the House, representing District 73. He served as Assistant Minority Floor Leader.

Biography

Shumate earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Affairs/Administration from the University of Oklahoma. His professional experience includes working as a public relations consultant, and working as press secretary for the University of Oklahoma.
