Prior to his election to the House, McGuire served as Supervisor in Joliet Township from 1982-1991, and a Trustee from 1973-1982.
McGuire served in the United States Army, and has been a coach and teacher. He is a member of Post 1080 - American Legion, Irish-American Society of Will County, and Number 367 - Veterans of Foreign Wars.[1]
