A Jackson City Annexation Question was on the February 7, 2012 ballot in the city of Jackson which is in Cape Girardeau County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 658 (43.8%)
  • NO 843 (56.2%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to annex a Fruitland quarry owned by Heartland Materials into the city. Those opposed noted that the people near the quarry who would be annex would not get to vote on the issue and have questioned the legality of the measure. But those in favor noted that this was just allowing for the city to continue to grow and would have added tax money into the City budget.[2]
