A Jackson County Seniors Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in Jackson County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 14,336 (71.3%)Approveda
  • NO 5,771 (28.7%)[1]

This measure sought to renew the current Seniors levy in the county which is set at a rate of .25 mills for a further eight years in order to continue to pay for senior programs and senior facility costs in the county. County Commissioners were debating on whether or not to increase the tax as well as more Seniors are expected to partake in the county services offered and it is estimated that there would not be enough money from the current tax to further fund additional services and programs for more seniors.[2]
