James H. Taylor, Sr. was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House representing the 2nd Congressional District of Illinois. Taylor was defeated by Brian Woodworth in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012.[1]

Taylor was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinios' 2nd District. Taylor sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[2] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. ran for re-election on the Democratic ticket.

Incumbent Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. won in the Democratic primary against Debbie Halvorson.[1] Candidate Brian Woodworth won in the Republican primary, defeating Taylor, and advancing to the general election against Jackson on November 6, 2012.[1]
