James H. Taylor, Sr. was a 2012 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 2nd Congressional District of Illinois. Taylor was defeated by Brian Woodworth in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012.[1]

Taylor was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinios' 2nd District. Taylor sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[2] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. is seeking re-election on the Democratic ticket.

Incumbent Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. won in the Democratic primary against Debbie Halvorson.[1] Candidate Brian Woodworth won in the Republican primary, defeating Taylor, and advancing to the general election against Jackson on November 6, 2012.[1]
