James Hamper (b. June 16, 1955) is a Republican member of the Maine House of Representatives. He has represented the 100th District since 2004.

Hamper works as a carpenter/foreman for Bartow Construction.

He is Vice Chair of the Oxford County Republican Committee, and a member of the Oxford Budget Committee, and Oxford Advent Christian Church.[1]

Hamper won election in the 2012 election for Maine State Senate District 13. He defeated Richard Cebra in the June 12, 2012 Republican primary, and defeated Dennise Whitley (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
