Polk is running in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 46. Polk is running against incumbent David Koehler, G. Allen Mayer and Marvin Bainter in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012. Pat Sullivan, current incumbent in District 47b, is running unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012.[1]
