James Long was a 2010 Democratic candidate for District 43 of the North Carolina State Senate. The primary election was on May 4, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010.

Long lost in the November 2 general election to Kathryn Harrington (R).[1] Long replaced Annette Carter, who initially received the Democratic nomination but later withdrew from the race.[2]
