James N. McLaughlin (b. November 6, 1943) is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 57. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010.

McLaughlin served in the U.S. Army where he also earned his G.E.D. After he transitioned to civilian life, he worked as a body and automotive technician. McLaughlin is automotive and auto body certified.
