Jay Ramras was a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 10th District from 2005 to 2011.

Ramras is a businessman and has been the owner of Aviator Greenhouse and Sweets, Food Factory, Jaybird's Wingworld, Pike's Landing, and Pike's Waterfront Lodge.

He is a member of the Alaska Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant and Retailers Association, Alaska Travel Industry Association, Chamber of Commerce, and the National Rifle Association.[1]

Issue positions

Ramras did not provide answers to the Political Courage Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[2]

Ramras did not seek re-election in 2010. Instead he ran for Lieutenant Governor, losing in the primary. He came in second with 31.16%.

2008

In 2008 Ramras was re-elected to the Alaska House of Representatives District 10. Ramras (R) finished with 2,582 votes while his opponent John Brown (D) finished with 2,327 votes.[4] Ramras raised $60,789 for his campaign fund.[5]
