Jay Cherlin was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 9 of the New York State Assembly.

Cherlin ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 9. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Incumbent Joseph S. Saladino -- who also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets -- ran against Richard W. Young in the Republican primary. He was defeated by Joseph S. Saladino in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
