Campaign themes

Lakin provided the following statement for the 2013 Local Voters' Pamphlet in Kitsap County:[4]

"Effective administration is realized when a diverse Board with the necessary credentials is seated. It is essential to have an experienced administrative and technical professional as part of that diversity to enable optimum policy making and financial management.

My extensive experience in all levels of administration and management of multi-million dollar budgets both in the public and private sector is well suited for South Kitsap School Board service. I have been a member of three different bargaining units and have supervised bargaining unit employees, which included labor relations and contract negotiations. I am goal oriented and have a drive for results which I believe will be pivotal in reaching District goals of ensuring student success, encouraging and engaging parent participation, and graduating students who are prepared to be responsible citizens and leaders in our community.

It would be a privilege to serve as District 3 Director. I would appreciate your confidence and support"
