Jeff Smith is a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 1 since 2013. He previously represented District 6 from 2011 to 2013. In the 2013 session, Smith serves as an Assistant Majority Leader.

Smith was most recently a farm and commercial lender and bank manager at First Bank and Trust in Spirit Lake, IA before moving to Okoboji two years ago. Previously, he raised corn, soybeans and swine on his family farm. Smith has also served on the agriculture committee of the Iowa Bankers Association and on the board of directors of the Spirit Lake Mainsail Chamber of Commerce.

He holds a B.S. in Public Service and Administration from Iowa State University.
