Jeffrey Dinowitz (b. December 3, 1954) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 81 since February 1994 when he won a special election. Dinowitz's other political experiences include delegate to the Democratic National Convention; district leader of the Bronx Democratic Party; member of Bronx area Policy Board #7; committeeman for Democratic State Committee; delegate to the Democratic Judicial Convention; and member of District Council 37.

Dinowitz's professional experiences include administrative law judge for the State of New York; an employee of New York State Department of Motor Vehicles; attorney for New York City Comptroller's office; and assistant counsel for New York State Assembly.

Dinowitz earned a BA from Herbert Lehman College, City University of New York and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife, Sylvia Gottlieb, have two children; Kara and Eric.[1]

Dinowitz ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Joseph McLaughlin (R) in the general election on November 2. In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, he ran on the Working Familes ticket.[2]
