Jeffrey McWaters is a Republican member of the Virginia State Senate. He has been a Senator since 2010, representing the 8th district. McWaters won a special election in Jan. 2010.[1]

McWaters received a B.A. in Accounting at the University of Kentucky. In the 1980s, McWaters worked for CIGNA and Earnst & Young. In 1994, he founded AMERIGROUP, a company a served as CEO for until 2007.

In addition to serving as senator McWaters is also a member of the Trinity Church in Virginia Beach, where he serves as an elder.

On Jan. 12, 2010, Mcwaters won election to the 8th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Bill Fleming (D). [2]
