Jeffrey McWaters is a Republican member of the Virginia State Senate. He has been a Senator since 2010, representing the 8th district. McWaters won a special election in Jan. 2010.[1]

McWaters received a B.A. in Accounting at the University of Kentucky. In the 1980s, McWaters worked for CIGNA and Earnst & Young. In 1994, he founded AMERIGROUP, a company a served as CEO for until 2007.

In addition to serving as senator McWaters is also a member of the Trinity Church in Virginia Beach, where he serves as an elder.

On November 8, 2011, McWaters won re-election to District 8 of the Virginia State Senate. He was unchallenged in the August 23 primary and ran unopposed in the November 8 general election.[2]

2010

On Jan. 12, 2010, Mcwaters won election to the 8th District Seat in the Virginia State Senate, defeating opponent Bill Fleming (D). [3]
