Jim Oberweis is a 2012 Republican candidate for District 25 of the Illinois State Senate.

Oberweis worked as a teacher at Waldo Junior High School in Aurora before entering the financial services industry, eventually launching three no-load mutual funds. He is also the Chairman of Oberweis Dairy.

Oberweis earned a BA from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an MBA from the University Of Chicago Graduate School of Business.[1]

Oberweis is running in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 25. Oberweis defeated Dave Richmond and Richard Slocum in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Chris Lauzen is not running for re-election in District 25. Oberweis will face Democrat Corinne Pierog in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
