Jimmy Farris was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Idaho.

Farris lost to incumbent Raul Labrador (R) on November 6, 2012.[1]

Career

Farris worked as a wide receiver for several seasons with the San Francisco 49er’s, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and the Washington Redskins.[2] He was a member of the 2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl Championship team.[2]

Farris also founded the non-profit The Jimmy Farris Future Leaders Foundation, which helps to equipping and developing young leaders with the skills necessary to excel academically, spiritually, socially and athletically.[2]

Farris ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Idaho's 1st District. Farris won the nomination on the Democratic ticket. [3] Farris defeated Cynthia Clinkingbeard in the Democratic primary. He faced Pro-Life (I), incumbent Raul Labrador (R) and Rob Oates (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012, and was defeated by Labrador.[4]
