Jimmy Stewart was a Republican member of the Ohio State Senate. He served in the Ohio State House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008. He joined the Ohio State Senate in 2008 representing District 20 and serving as State Senate Majority Floor Leader from 2008 until his resignation in July 2011.

Stewart worked as an Equipment Salesman for Caterpillar Equipment. He has also worked as Auditor for Athens City. He is currently a Legislator.

Stewart earned his BBA from Marshall University. He went on to receive his MBA from Xavier University.

In a February 18, 2011 interview with The Columbus Dispatch, Seitz voiced concerns about the controversial collective bargaining bill, stating that he was seeking middle ground with labor and was unsure whether he would support the bill.[1]
